Donnybrook estate kicks off with big plans for sports fans

Satterley’s Heartford estate in Donnybrook will commence land sales on June 4.

A 2000-home new estate headed to Donnybrook in Melbourne’s north is set to bring art and sport together.

Built on the site of the former Baker’s Dairy, the 135ha Heartford development by Satterley will offer its first 30 blocks for sale from June 4.

Satterley Victoria and Queensland general manager Jack Hoffman said all homes in the project would be within walking distance of green spaces thanks to an “unusually large amount of open space”.

That includes 2.19ha of local parks, and a conservation area already locked in for the development.

Another 8ha of playing fields are expected to be part of a precinct structure plan for the area that is also likely to include a supermarket, specialty stores and a primary school.

Satterley’s Heartford estate in Donnybrook is expected to give residents a sporty lifestyle.

But it is the sports area that is tipped to excite residents, and could add four baseball diamonds, six tennis courts, a pavilion and a playground to the area.

In addition to this, the developer is also planning to add a separate basketball half court, a skate space, in-ground trampoline, fitness stations, table tennis tables and a bike track with jumps.

“We certainly hope residents will make the most of the outdoor centres,” Mr Hoffman said.

While plans are not yet finalised, the estate will also have a range of mosaic artworks installed at its front entry and to a number of its public spaces.

The 2000-home estate will centralise its more affordable homes closest to its amenities.

Over the coming years, the estate will offer a mix of 250 affordable townhouses and small lots immediately around the estate’s main infrastructure, with larger blocks up to 512sq m.

A small park with a basketball ring and barbecue area is being built alongside the sales office.

The first release at Heartford will feature blocks ranging from 273-512sq m, with prices from $273,000.

The launch will be held online, on a first-click, first-served basis.
