Home renovator Sharni Wright says buyers are ruled by their hearts, even in a shifting market.
Ms Wright and her electrician partner, Fabian Trueman of T42 Electrical, are banking on the right buyer falling in love with their home when it goes under the hammer today.
The Burleigh Waters property’s fun perks include a man cave, designer cubby house and epic entertaining setup.

“There’s nothing else on the market quite like it, and a lot of people who see the house say they already feel like they’re at home,” Ms Wright said.
PropTrack data shows house prices in the popular Gold Coast suburb fell eight per cent in the last three months, coming off the back of last year’s staggering growth of 33 per cent. The median house price is $1.385m.
“It’s the type of home that will excite the buyer, so it is just down to what it’s worth to them,” Ms Wright said.
“The right person will buy it for the right price.”

With a number of successful renovations now under their belt, the couple and their two sons, Lucas, 7, and Jasper, 5, have moved into their next project at Worongary.
“We are having friends come over on auction day either to celebrate with us or to cheer us up, depending on how it goes,” Ms Wright said.
“It will actually be the first time for us to enjoy the house being completely finished with our friends.
“We didn’t plan to do as much as we did, but once we started, we couldn’t stop.
“We did all of the designing and styling ourselves — it was great to live in the home and add super practical spaces to the areas,” she said.
Reflecting on their five-year journey to auction day, Ms Wright advised other DIYers to choose their tradies wisely as they could become more like family.
“Keep it fun,” she said.
“Make sure you get along with the tradespeople you use. Keep in mind these people are going to be in your home a lot — around your children, while you’re making breakfast, with your animals.”
The home’s upper level is given over to spacious open-plan living, with Tasmanian Oak floors and expansive glass windows lending a bright ambience anchored by the gleaming new kitchen.
