“It travelled in $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 increments,” Mr Riddle said.

He said the buyers were keen on home’s single level aspect and the space outside for their kids to play.

“The home is 20 years old, it’s really ahead of its time with a lot of the architectural themes still there,” Mr Riddle said.

“It’s really current and not as dated as other homes of that age.”

The underbidder was a young family looking to make the switch to Highton from Armstrong Creek.

Mr Riddle said most of the buyer interest was local, and that the huge Melbourne migration seen during the pandemic has slowed.

“We had 40 groups through, all were local except for one to two groups from Melbourne,” he said.

The home has three living zones, including a rumpus room with plenty of storage.

Kitchen highlights include filtered tap water, a walk-in pantry and breakfast bar.
