A glam Taylors Lakes mansion with a nightclub-esque glass staircase and bar designed to resemble a ship has sailed to a new suburb price record by selling for $2.5m.
The house at 11 Fitzgerald Court cruised $620,000 above Taylors Lakes’ previous $1.88m residential price record, set by 6 Juniper Court in 2019.
The new record-setter’s highlights include a tennis court, indoor swimming pool and sauna room.
YPA Caroline Springs agent Andrew Migliorisi said the a local family purchased the house in a private sale.
Mr Migliorisi the home’s bar with beer on tap, a sink and four minibar fridges was located beneath the curving glass staircase.
“When you’re walking down you definitely get that nightclub feel,” Mr Migliorisi said.
The home’s owner said the curved bar and kitchen bench were designed to resemble a ship.
One of her children held a wedding reception at the property attended by 150 people.
The owner said the house was ideal for entertaining with features including a theatre room including a projector screen and in-built speakers.
There are two double-car garages, one containing a kitchen.
The main bedroom boasts a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite with spa bath.
Mr Migliorisi said Fitzgerald Court was home a friendly group of residents who hosted a street party every Christmas.
He said the house’s new owners were attracted by the neighbourhood’s sense of community as well as the home itself.
“The buyers spoke to one of the neighbours who told them all about the value of living in the neighbourhood and with the property itself, they loved every inch,” Mr Migliorisi said.
The home was advertised with a $2.4m-$2.6m asking price.
CoreLogic records show the house last sold for $1.1m in 2004.
