The perfect QLD home for war history buffs

The former wartime headquarters of an Australian infantry division has hit the market.

Located in the Townsville suburb of Mundingburra, 14 Mango Avenue has been restored but still retains its original features.

It was home to the 5th Division – an infantry division of the Australian Army – from March 1942 until approximately July 1942, when the troops were moved to Mount Stuart.

The 5th Division was raised in both the First World War and again in the Second World War, when the threat of Japanese invasion loomed large.
